Sweet Sounds started out in the basement of a home office complex in 1993. It started as the “American Dream.”  Jeff Sweere, the then owner of the business saw a market that was being under served in the southern MN area. Having access to and knowledge in a wide area of mobile electronics and custom installation, Jeff decided to venture in the world of car audio and mobile electronics in general.

The business started off as a part time venture during Jeff’s early college years. As things progressed, business kept on growing and growing. After Jeff finished his BS degree, he had a choice to make: Keep running Sweet Sounds or close up shop and use his degree to find a new job. The choice was rather easy to make. Jeff loved the business and had created so many new relationships that it would be nearly impossible to just up and leave. He decided to turn it into a full time business starting in 1996.

After a few more years of steady growth and more and more regional and national exposure, things were getting to be too busy for one man alone. Jeff had to hire some help and as more and more clients came to the door, the business kept on growing. In December of 1999, Jeff incorporated the business under the name Sweet Sounds, Inc. Jeff is now the president of the company and still tends to business most everyday of the week.

As time progressed, they quickly outgrew their old location and had to make a move because of some zoning regulations at their old location. After six months of searching during 2001, the new site at 1418 N. Riverfront Drive in Mankato, MN was found. Jeff and the rest of the crew, along with some helpful friends and family completely renovated the old buildings and had to start over. New displays were built from scratch and the entire interior was refinished from carpet to ceiling. They reopened for business during November of 2001. Just about everything you see in the retail area was hand built by the staff at Sweet Sounds.

With 2000 square feet of retail area and by far the largest installation facilities in the area, Sweet Sounds can now and in the future handle everything that is brought their way.

Since then, Sweet Sounds has become the leader in southern Minnesota for all vehicle related accessories. They expanded to include such items as performance parts, lighting accessories, racing parts, Nitrous Oxide, Mobile Video, In-car entertainment and a host of other new items. Being able to cater to Semi’s, RV’s, SUV’s, cars, trucks and boats of nearly any size, their abilities are nearly limitless. They have the products, knowledge, and staff to cater to any needs.
