10 years strong. For a decade, Sweet Sounds in Mankato has hosted our Coats for Kids Remote Car Starter promotion—and the community response has been incredible every single year. For 2025, we’re keeping the winning formula: donate a new or gently used children’s coat and save up to $50 on a qualifying Compustar remote starter. Help a local kid stay warm while you stay warm all winter.

What is the Coats for Kids Promotion?

Coats for Kids began with a fellow mobile electronics retailer out east and grew nationwide because it works: real coats to local families, right when winter hits.
At Sweet Sounds, when you purchase and pay for a new remote car starter between November 1 and Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 27, 2025) and bring in a new or gently used children’s coat, you’ll save up to $50 on your purchase.

We collect all donated coats at our showroom and deliver them to local charities for distribution to families in need. Kids outgrow gear fast—this is a simple way to put good coats to great use.

Why we run this promo

Since 1993, Sweet Sounds has been part of the Mankato community. Over the years, with your help, we’ve donated hundreds of coats valued at thousands of dollars to local organizations—at no cost to families. It’s a small way to give back that makes a big difference.

How the program works

• Visit Sweet Sounds Nov 1–Nov 27, 2025 to purchase your remote starter.
• Donate a new or gently used children’s coat (toddler through teen).
• We apply your savings (up to $50) at purchase and schedule installation.
• Planning to install later? No problem—pay in full and drop off the coat before Thanksgiving to qualify.

Phone purchases (507-345-8863) are welcome—just make sure the coat is dropped off at Sweet Sounds before Thanksgiving so we can get it to families promptly.

• Top-tier promo (up to $50 off): Qualifying Compustar PRO systems, including PRO T13, PRO R5, and PRO 2wG18 LTE.
• $25 off (specific models): Compustar DroneMobile LTE smartphone remote start and Compustar PRO 1wG18-FM (Sweet Sounds exclusive).

Donation guidelines

• New or gently used children’s/teen coats in clean, wearable condition
• Please check pockets and zippers; bundle pieces together if applicable
• We coordinate with local charities to get coats to families quickly

• One discount per remote start purchase with qualifying coat donation
• In-store only; cannot be combined with other offers, discounts, or sale prices
• No cash value; not valid on previous purchases or gift cards
• We reserve the right to determine the suitability of the donated coat for the discount
• Vehicle-specific parts/integration may be required; we quote everything up front
• Installation is by appointment; scheduling is first-come, first-served
