Founder and President

Jeff is the President of Sweet Sounds, a premier mobile electronics company based in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated with honors from Mankato State University in 1996, earning a degree in Computer Information Science. With over 35 years of experience in the mobile electronics field, Jeff has extensive expertise in sales, installation, and management. His diverse skill set includes audio system design and tuning, troubleshooting, fiberglass fabrication, and enhancing the overall client experience.

Jeff has a deep passion for fabrication and custom building, whether it’s creating a unique lighted plexiglass sign, crafting a fiberglass subwoofer box, or designing stylish walnut artwork for the home. He thrives on getting hands-on and bringing his ideas to life, finding joy in creating amazing products from scratch. This love for craftsmanship and innovation extends into his professional work, where his favorite part of the job is marine audio and lighting. Jeff brings boats to life with incredible sound and custom lighting solutions, and much of his work can be seen on the Sweet Sounds website and YouTube channel, showcasing his commitment to high-quality installations.

Jeff eagerly embraces every training opportunity available, constantly seeking to expand his knowledge and expertise. One of the most memorable experiences of his career was traveling to France to visit Focal’s state-of-the-art factory. Immersing himself in the heart of Focal’s innovation, Jeff had the rare opportunity to see firsthand how their world-class speakers are meticulously crafted. From the raw materials used in their proprietary cones to the precision assembly and tuning processes, the visit provided unparalleled insight into the engineering and passion behind Focal’s legendary sound. Meeting the designers and engineers responsible for some of the best audio products in the world was an inspiring experience that further deepened his appreciation for high-fidelity sound.

Beyond his trip to France, Jeff has completed extensive training with industry-leading brands, including Compustar, ADS, Memphis, Kenwood, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Digital Designs, Sony, and Focal USA. His commitment to continuous education has also led him to attend numerous industry events, such as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), KnowledgeFest, dB Drag Racing Finals, Midwest SPL Finals, IASCA World Finals, and Spring Break Jam. Each of these experiences has played a vital role in refining his skills and ensuring that Sweet Sounds clients receive the highest level of expertise in every installation.

Throughout his career, Jeff has built world championship-winning SPL vehicles and has been featured in multiple magazine articles. He and Sweet Sounds were also honored as Focal’s Installer of the Month, a testament to their exceptional craftsmanship in mobile audio installations. However, Jeff feels that his greatest professional accomplishment isn’t the awards or recognition—it’s the loyalty of his clients. For over 30 years, customers have continued to return to Sweet Sounds time and time again, trusting Jeff and his team to enhance their vehicles with the best in audio, lighting, and technology. That lasting trust and repeat business are what he values most, as they reflect the quality of work and customer experience that Sweet Sounds consistently delivers.

Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Kara, their three children, and his growing number of grandchildren, whom he loves to see. An avid outdoorsman, he finds relaxation in golf, boating, fishing, and weekend drives. His love for nature extends into photography, where he captures stunning images of birds, wildlife, and the aurora borealis.

A passionate traveler, Jeff thrives on exploring Latin America, the Caribbean, the Northwoods, and any mountainous region. His love for nature and wildlife photography, combined with his innate love for adventure, results in stunning images that bring destinations to life. In addition to his personal photography, Jeff offers real estate photography services, focusing on creating full portfolios for vacation rental owners, especially those in Latin America and the Caribbean. His portfolios highlight the entire experience—capturing the home, property, local attractions, and activities. Jeff often incorporates unique shots, such as underwater photography, along with a variety of images captured over multiple days and across different locations, offering potential guests a vivid, immersive look at the destination. As a highly successful vacation rental owner himself, Jeff brings a unique perspective to creating these portfolios, helping both owners and renters better understand the potential of the rental location. His portfolios showcase what makes each vacation home special—ultimately helping rental owners secure more bookings.

He resides in Madison Lake, Minnesota, and continues to lead Sweet Sounds with a passion for excellence and innovation in the mobile electronics industry.
