Since the early 1990s, customers from all over the United States have contacted the experts at Sweet Sounds when inquiring about remote car starters, especially when it comes to working on vehicles that other shops avoid due to their difficulty or rareness. The experts at Sweet Sounds have been working on Audi, Saab, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Volvo and other less-common vehicles for many, many years.
We were recently contacted by Justin and Amanda to perform a remote start installation in their beautiful 2016 Range Rover Sport. The Range Rover, build by the British company Land Rover, is yet another vehicle most companies will avoid due to the complexities involved in installing a remote start. Not ones to be shy of a good challenge, the expert installation technicians at Sweet Sounds set aside some time to knock out another one.
Having access to extensive databases and other resources helps, but having more than 25 years of troubleshooting and measurements skills to go along with that information is often required when working on rare vehicles, and saved the day on this particular car.
In the end, we solved the puzzle and completed a successful Compustar RF-P2wR3-SS — aka the Pro R3 way — remote start in the Range Rover. The R3-SS is an ideal remote start for this particular vehicle because the remote control is small, so it doesn’t take up much room in the pocket or purse. Since the ’16 Range Rover is a push-to-start vehicle, you still have to carry the original FOB to drive the vehicle. Even though the R3 remote control is tiny, it packs a huge punch with up to 2 miles of range, allowing Justin and Amanda to start their vehicle a great distance away through walls, structures and other buildings.
